Meet the breeder

I'm Andrea V., the breeder behind Vermillion Newfoundlands located in Ohio. Our Newfy pups are raised in our home and are very well socialized with children dogs and even cats. We welcome visitors and introducing anyone to the Newfoundland breed.

Q. & A. with Andrea

  • Why did you start breeding?

We began our adventure when we moved to central Ohio 18 years ago and chose the Newfoundland as a pet for a country home. We adopted our first Newfie in 2007 and she lived up to everything good that we ever read about the breed and so much more! We soon realized the Newfoundland temperament was one of a kind. We fell in love with their gentle nature calm personalities and huggable teddy bear size.
  • What makes your program special?

We care for our carefully selected dogs on seven acres and they thrive in our growing family environment. All puppies are raised in our home and are very well socialized by our large family. They are raised with our 5 children, dogs (of course) and a few cats and our pet ferret. We always welcome visitors and introducing people to the Newfoundland breed.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include beige, white and gray, white and black, white and brown, brown, and gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Andrea and her family were so wonderful throughout the entire experience. Showing up to pick the puppy up was a great experience. They have an amazing set up and make sure to get to know you before you just leave with a puppy. We will only get our Newfoundland’s from The Vermillion’s.
