I'm Vickie R., the breeder behind Vickie's Shih Tzus located in Buda, TX. My Shih Tzu breeding program is based in the heart of Texas. I am a small home breeder. I am retired and I devote full time to my program. My grandchildren visit me often and love to play with the puppies. My husband is also retired and socializes with the puppies. My puppies are in high demand and are always going to their new homes after they are eight weeks. Each puppy is special and is always chosen by loving families to live with.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I wanted something to do after I retired from the State of Texas. I love the Shih Tzu breed. So I decided to become a Shih Tzu dog breeder.

  • What makes your program special?

    The time I'm able to spend with my puppies ensures that they're properly loved and cared for, and will be wonderful additions to your family.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate, tricolor, chocolate and tan, liver, gold, liver and white, brindle and white, gold and white, white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Puppy prices include a $150 non-refundable deposit and $1,350 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    I’m so happy that I found my puppy through Vickie’s Shih Tzu’s. Vickie was very responsive and kept me updated on my handsome boy, Chance.     Vickie and her husband are wonderful. We had been looking for a Shih Tzu for a long time and feel so lucky that we found just the right breeder. We can tell our puppy was loved and had lots of attention. Vickie sent us photos whenever we asked for updates. She would respond quickly and we even got to visit our puppy in person before bringing her home. When we did pick our puppy up to go home she gave us a bag full of all sorts of items that made the transition go smoothly. Our puppy had a great first vet visit and we could not be any happier with our experience.

    Vickie and her husband, Jaime were wonderful! I drove out to their location. Not knowing what to expect. I had a very nice lady come to the gate, who then guided me to Vickie’s home. I Jaime came out , introduced himself and then I met Vickie and (Bingo - named by my 10 year old). Vickie and Jaime were beyond great. All smiles, polite and very comforting (I was a tad nervous). We sat around a table and started talking and playing with Bingo. They were very patient with me and all my random questions. I never felt rushed or pressured into anything. I felt comfortable and felt so lucky to be picking up our dog from this lovely couple / family. I received a goodie bag with sweet gifts, some food and all the paperwork needed.
