I'm Brandi C., the breeder behind Vista Trails Border Collies located in Marion, VA. Our hope is to prepare each of our puppies with thoughtful socialization so they have the best foundation to seamlessly transition into their new homes. We start early socialization skills, potty training and noise desensitization.

Why did you start breeding?
I have worked in canine repro for almost 20 years as an LVT. I have helped so many Breeders establish their lines, help with DNA testing, AI patients surgical and side by side, and not to mention assist and talk clients through breeding, deliver and post partym management. Now I have the opportunity to begin this journey myself with two dogs that I love so much.What makes your program special?
We are in this because we love this breed. We want to help educate and show new families how intelegent and special Border collies are if given the appropriate position in their homes. We love our Dame and sire. They are members of our family.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include tri-color and white and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Brandi
Brandi has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Brandi partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Price includes both ABCA registration and AKC eligible registration. Two Health assessments by a Veterinarian of each puppy, first set of vaccines and deworming. And our puppy care package. The price of puppies includes a limited registration. Other options can be discussed prior to collection of deposit.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

My 10 year old son had his heart set on owning a border collie, so the search began and thankfully that lead us to Vista Trails Border Collies. Brandi was wonderful to work with. She was quick to respond to messages and went above and beyond to provide detailed information about “Rooster” the puppy. It was obviously Brandi genuinely care about making sure the puppy was placed in a loving home and provided a care package that included vaccination records, supply of specific brands or puppy food, and a blanket. Coal (aka “Rooster”) has been a wonderful addition to our family and a “best friend” to my son. We will forever be grateful for Vista Trails Border Collies.
