Meet the breeder

I'm Eugenia W., the breeder behind Wessels Giant Schnauzers located in Forest Grove, OR. Having a Giant in our lives is such a blessing. Throughout the years Wessels Schnauzers has lived by the belief that all our giants are part of the family & we want to make sure ALL our puppies will find homes sharing this belief! We search far/wide for the perfect families.

Q. & A. with Eugenia

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was walking thru Germany & saw my 1st Giant….was HOOKED! Came home & searched far & wide for a giant Schnauzer. Contacted so many breeders. Finally found a breeder with a litter on the way and I got on the waitlist!! My youngest daughter left the house for college 😫….. and my female Giant came home in my arms. Never thought about breeding till a year later when a friendly neighbor approached & asked about getting a puppy from her. I have learned so much!!! I have 3 giants now! I LOVE my VELCRO SHADOWS!! Floral designer by trade. I owned/ran Wessels Family Honey, LLC we were in 400 plus stores ofter a pretty bad honey year pieced it off & bought rental properties. Our home has little over 8acres and we have done so many animals….lol now we have Filbert trees, 2 barn cats & Giants….thus our tagline, “GIANTS IN THE GROVE!” Striving to learn as much as I can! AKC EVENTS are so much fun & this breed is incredibly smart, talented & deserve THE BEST! We are doing scent, conformation.,,hoping for truffle hunting as well!!!
  • What makes your program special?

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING 👉HEALTH TESTING! ALL RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE AT OFA. We test Elbows, Hips, thyroid, Cardiac & eyes! This is incredibly important!! 1 year Health Guarantee, all info in contract. Wessels Schnauzers Throughout the years has lived by the belief that all our dogs are part of the family & we want to make sure ALL our puppies will find homes sharing this belief! We meet potential families before any money is taken. We invite Families in to see Parents & puppies. Hands/Arms washed; shoes removed!!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Eugenia

Eugenia has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Eugenia partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

"1st I meet all families! Each family will get a call to come visit. Pups eyes are open, shoes removed, hands/arms washed. This gives us all a chance to meet. Every pup and family are different, matching them up is my job. As Breeder watching their structure, temperament and personalities is the best way. But the Aptitude test is mandatory and so helpful!! Children in the family? Energy levels! Scent or agility desired? There is so much to be taken into account...but I must meet the families. These pups will have lifetime families!! "

Sorry for the late review. Have been very busy since the new puppy. Did a lot of research on this breed before purchasing. Zeus is a perfect example of a giant schnauzer. As far as the breeeder, Eugenia is a perfect example of a great breeder. She cares more about the well being of her puppies more than anything. So thank you for the excellent experience and the new friend.

Eugenia is great to work with. Jack was going to be my first GS so she gave me lots of information to make sure I knew what to expect. After listening to what I wanted to do with him ( scent work and rally) she picked out just the right puppy for me. We kept in touch and she was always available to hear about his accomplishments like when he got his Farm Dog Title or give me moral support when he broke his toe. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a GS SamPointer

It great working with Eugenia and Wessells Giant schnauzers. She took a lot of time with us as we picked out our puppy. Our granddaughters were there to help and everyone was patient with us as we found the right puppy “Coral”. Olive is now an energetic 2 year old that is pretty obedient. She weighs 92 pounds and loves to play in the house or the backyard. She waits patiently every morning for her walk.

Eugenia is simply the best. From matching you with a pup whose temperament matches your lifestyle to checking in to see how it is going after you bring your pup home. These pups are not just a business for her, she genuinely cares about them and their lives after they leave her care.

Eugenia was great to work with, we loved getting social media updates as the pups were born and grew up before they went to their forever homes.
