Meet the breeder

I'm Ashley B., the breeder behind West Michigan Dachshund located in White Cloud, MI. My name is Ashley Blaauw. I have a long family history of being weenie owners. I have been breeding since 2019. If you’ve ever owned a dachshund, you know what a loving and loyal breed this is. I always joke with people that dachshunds are like potato chips, you can’t have just one! 🤣 I breed both smooth and long hair dachshunds. I own 5 females and two males. All my dogs are DNA health tested and vet checked. We live on 3 acres in the heart of Manistee national forest. I love and spoil my dogs.

Q. & A. with Ashley

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first dachshund of my own in 2017. I will never get tired of seeing my clients faces’ light up seeing their new baby for the first time and seeing how much love and positivity that comes into their lives.

Ashley was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Healthy puppies that are well socialized. -Kathleen Fallon Just got a pup in August from Ashley. She was awesome to work with, sends weekly pup-dates on your new fur babies progress and keeps communication flowing. HIGHLY recommend West Michigan Daschund!! - Tracy Warchuck I am one of Ashley‘s clients. I have never met a more down-to-earth personable human. The moment I met her I felt like we known each other a lifetime. She takes her business extremely seriously and has a depth of knowledge and love for these animals. She does an amazing job in socializing them so they are ready to go to their forever home by the time they are weaned from their mother. She is trustworthy and just a gem! You will not be sorry working with her. - Lisa Wood/Bickel

Ashley made our first experience on Good Dog incredibly easy and stress free. Communication was timely and transparent. Both in person experiences were pleasant, and we appreciated her willingness to accommodate a half way point for us coming from out of town. She provided us with a take home bag which was very helpful for our first day/evening with our new puppy. Positives all around. Easy to recommend to any one who may be interested in her dogs.
