I'm Alyssa T., the breeder behind West Texas Dachshunds LLC located in Lubbock, TX. West Texas Dachshunds was founded in 2019. I focus on producing healthy, well-socialized puppies with excellent temperaments. All of my dogs are AKC-registered, and all of our parents are health-tested. Our puppies are raised in a family setting in my home. We are now raising French Bulldogs.

Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding out of a deep love for the dachshund breed and a desire to do things the right way. I saw a gap in my area for ethical, health-focused breeders who genuinely care about bettering the breed—not just producing puppies. That’s when West Texas Dachshunds was born. Now, it’s not just a hobby—it’s a passion-driven program where each litter is planned with purpose, care, and love.
What makes your program special?
At West Texas Dachshunds, our breeding program stands out because we combine health, temperament, and quality lineage to produce exceptional companions. All of our dachshunds are AKC-registered and our parents are health-tested to ensure they’re free from genetic conditions common in the breed. We raise our puppies in a loving home environment where they are socialized with our children.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies include red, chocolate, brindle, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, chocolate and cream, fawn (isabella) and tan, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Alyssa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Alyssa partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $5,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our AKC-registered puppies range depending on coat type, and color. All puppies come with age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, deworming, a health guarantee, and a go-home puppy pack. All deposits are nonrefundable.”

Alyssa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
