I'm Melissa H., the breeder behind West Wind Farm’s Labradors & Livery located in Landaff, NH. Breeding is about so much more than just getting two dogs together. Our focus is on health, quality lines and a lifelong partner. Our dogs go through extensive genetic testing and OFA hips, elbows, patellar, eyes and cardiac certifications following breed expectations set forth by AKC.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    There’s no better feeling than when we match one of our precious pups with their caring new owner. It’s why we put so much time, love and effort into making sure our breeding pairs match our values. Breeding is about so much more than just getting two dogs together. Our focus is on health, quality lines and a lifelong partner.

  • What makes your program special?

    Healthy pups is of utmost importance to us- and why we started breeding in the first place! Our dogs go through extensive genetic testing, OFA hips, elbows, eyes and cardiac certifications and following bred expectations set forth by AKC. Your pup is an investment- and having to pay for expensive vet bills for preventable health conditions is just not ok!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Melissa

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Melissa partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and $1,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration, activated lifetime microchip, Vet health certificate, first shots, puppy take home kits, lifetime breeder support and undergo regular deworming and nail trimming. 🐾 Deposit & Reservation Policy An approved application is required before a deposit is accepted. Deposits secure a position on our waitlist — not a specific puppy — and are applied toward the purchase price. We follow a breeder-led temperament matching process to ensure long-term compatibility. Puppies are matched based on temperament, lifestyle, and goals rather than first-come, first-pick selection. Deposits are considered part of a binding agreement under New Hampshire law and are: • Non-refundable but can be transferred to a future litter. • Refundable if we cannot provide a puppy as agreed Each puppy goes home with a written contract, health record, vaccination documentation, and health guarantee in accordance with NH companion animal sale protections. Our priority is ethical placement and lifelong success for every Labrador we raise. 🐾.”

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
