I'm JessicaSmith B., the breeder behind Westlane Dogs located in Nacogdoches, TX. We breed quality Labradors that make wonderful family pets, excel in service dog homes, and compete in many performance venues. We actively participate in hunt tests, coursing events, barn hunts, and dock diving. Temperament is very important, many of our puppies have gone into service dog homes. We volhard test our puppies at 7 wks and evaluate our puppies for potential service prospects at that time.
Q. & A. with JessicaSmith
Why did you start breeding?
Although I've always had Labradors, I only started showing and breeding them fifteen years ago. I love my dogs and truly cherish the friendships I have established throughout the years. Maintaining the line of these amazing dogs while providing companionship to others is such an honor!
What makes your program special?
Every dog in our breeding program has been genetically tested (or CBP) and undergoes OFA testing (hips/elbows/heart/eyes). When a dog's owner is no longer able to care for them, we will always support our dogs and take them back. Many of our puppy families have come back throughout the years and have gotten others from us. It's very special to create friendships with our puppy families!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
