I'm Teryn B., the breeder behind Whiskey River Aussies located in Polson, MT. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families.
Q. & A. with Teryn
Why did you start breeding?
My husband was raised with Australian Shepherds. We love the breed and really enjoy training dogs. Many ask us about our dogs and comment how well they are trained so we decided to start getting into breeding them around five years ago.
What makes your program special?
We really focus on training. I don't believe that you should just get a cute dog, you should get a good dog. We spend time with them each day making sure they have the skills they need to become a member of your family right away. I focus on potty training because that is the first, most difficult, part of training a puppy. I want them to have good manners and respect for their new owners.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
