Meet the breeder

I'm Haley W., the breeder behind White Run Ranch located in Fort Cobb, OK.

Q. & A. with Haley

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started breeding because I have 2 friends that got me started and interested in the breed. I use to hate thoer personalities when they come into the clinic. When I owned one I completely understand the velcro dog personality.
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is small scale and super exciting. I breed 1-2 litters a year and keep my numbers small. Puppies that don't sell get retained and shown for my program later.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red & white, black & white, red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

White Run Ranch reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
