I'm Leslie B., the breeder behind Whitemoor Collies located in Prince William, VA. WhiteMoor Collies is dedicated to West River Lord Stanley aka “Sabre." Sabre was obtained from West River Collies in April 2000. He was the first Collie that I raised from a puppy and my first show dog. Unfortunately, Sabre was only with us for 6 years before we lost him to lymphoma. Health and temperament are very important to me. I genetically test my dogs.
Q. & A. with Leslie
Why did you start breeding?
I started in conformation and then realized there was a lot more to this hobby. I moved into performance and decided I wanted to breed my own dogs to meet my standards.
What makes your program special?
I health test my dogs. My dogs not only excel in the conformation ring but also in performance. I don't want them to just be pretty but they have to be structurally sound. They also need to have good temperaments that can live anywhere and be taken anywhere.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable merle, sable and white, black white and tan, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
