I'm Kaitlin H., the breeder behind Wild K Ranch located in Tulare, CA. I have several years of experience in breeding horses, so breeding dogs has been second nature to me. I look at confirmation, personality, and all my dogs are health tested. Some horses that have come out of my program have gone to prestigious homes and I have same expectations with my dogs.

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted a companion to travel with to horse shows, so I decided to go with a cardigan. I had so much interest in her with how well she works and her mannerisms, I decided to get a male to breed her too. And he has become my sidekick. I am no showman or world champion breeder, but my dogs are no slouches. They both work and are trained to be well rounded ranch dogs and companions.What makes your program special?
I do health testing, genetic testing, and constantly make sure I am not doing anything incorrectly by talking to mentors and my vet. I treat dogs the same way as I do my horses when it comes to breeding. In my opinion, most pet owners aren't looking for a world champion blood line, they want a healthy, smart, trainable companion and I do my best to provide that with my Cardigans.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Motley
Motley is 3 years old and is a work-oriented cardigan. She loves to be outside, loves to hunt and work the livestock, and great road dog. She would rather be in the barn than in the house. She is great with kids and strangers but I'm hoping she passes her work ethic on to a few of her pups. If you are looking for a ranch dog, I hope you look into this breed as they are extremely smart and driven.

About Watson
Watson is my main man. He loves his family and his bed in the house. He goes to the barn with me every day but he sticks by my side and waits for his pets. He will help Motley work every now and then, but he'd rather be with his humans getting all the attention and love. I bred him and Motley hoping to get a good mix of both personalities. He is a fluffy, we're excited to see if any of his puppies have his luscious hair. We can test for the gene if potential buyer requests it.

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (rcd3)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
