I'm Amber D., the breeder behind Wild Rose Ridge Doxies located in Riverton, WY. We are a small, ethical in-home dachshund breeder focused on health, structure, and temperament above all else. Our dogs are Embark DNA tested and evaluated for overall soundness, and we are intentional with every pairing we make.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I originally fell in love with dachshunds for their personalities . As I learned more about responsible breeding, health testing, and temperament, I realized how important it was to be intentional—not just breeding, but improving and preserving what makes this breed so special.

  • What makes your program special?

    My program is built around raising puppies in home environment with a strong focus on health, temperament, and early development. My dogs are DNA tested, and each pairing is planned with intention. Puppies are raised in-home with ENS and ESI, daily handling, noise exposure, and early training including potty and crate introduction. I put a lot of time into giving them a solid foundation.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include wirehaired, smooth, and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, piebald, cream, red, brindle, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Amber

Amber has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Amber partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“I screen and approve all buyers before adding them to my waitlist. Puppy picks are made in order of deposit, but I stay involved in the process and am always happy to help guide families based on temperament and lifestyle. I spend a lot of time with each litter, so I get a good feel for their personalities and can help match the right puppy to the right home when needed.”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 24/7 care , weekly updates with photos or videos , socialization , AKC or CKC registration papers , their first vaccinations and two dewormings.”

Amber may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
