Q. & A. with Nora
Why did you start breeding?
Bumped across the Chessies when training problem dogs, brought a male deemed untrainable by trainers. So I bought his equally wrecked sister in 1984 . I bred her and kept her one surviving offspring after she put herself in harms way to save her handler . Her pup worked for me 13 years. All my existing dogs are kin to her through her sire. I fell in love with the Chessie and never looked back.
What makes your program special?
I breed for trainability willingness adaptability with a strong work ethic. Suitability to be assistance dogs as well as lovely hunting/home companions .I raise the pups to encourage these traits .I select for longevity and health to have a long working life.
They meet breed standards in looks type & coat.
Many of the chessies of this lineage have saved many lives over the decades .
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark deadgrass, light deadgrass, light brown, and sedge. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
