I'm Michelle S., the breeder behind Wilson's Wiener Farm located in Castalia, NC. We are committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. We breed with a focus on health and temperament, and we have years of experience in preparing puppies for their forever homes. We spend lots of time socializing and training our pups so they will have a great foundation of good behavior and neurological development.
Q. & A. with Michelle
Why did you start breeding?
We began our breeding when my now husband brought me home a longhair dapple. I fell in love with her, then him. She was our flowergirl at our wedding. She was such a blessing to my son, who is high functioning autistic that we decided to begin breeding so we could provide other families with the same love and support a dachshund gives. Growing up on a large cattle ranch in the midwest gave me the knowledge of genetics and proper breeding skills. Our doggies are always priority and my son is our main puppy caregiver. He is so in love with each and everyone of them and he now has something he takes great pride in.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, fawn (isabella), fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, chocolate and cream, blue and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
