I'm Heidi B., the breeder behind Windsong Ranch Aussies located in Dulzura, CA. Our focus is on thoughtfully bred, well raised, family oriented dogs. We have a lovely line of lower drive dogs that make wonderful companions. We are also working on improving a line of higher drive working/sport dogs. Health, structure, and temperament are all equally important in both lines.

Getting a puppy from Heidi
Heidi has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $100 non-refundable deposit and between $1,400 - $2,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes AKC pre-paid registration and AKC Reunite enrolled microchips. All puppies receive a puppy wellness exam with our vet at which time they receive a DAPP vaccination, Drontal dewormer, and Simparica Trio Flea/Tick/Heartworm preventative. Dew claws will be removed and tails will be docked UNLESS a buyer on our wait-list wants a puppy with a full tail. In this case we will require a $500 non-refundable deposit. Deposits are required to make an appointment. Deposits can be transferred to another litter but are non-refundable unless breeder decides not to sell reserved puppy.”

Heidi may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 19 May •…When it's time to make dinner (for the humans) the playpen moves into the kitchen. The two tris, West and Loretta, are available. Both are bold and happily try new things making them great for active families in town or on the farm. ❤️🤍💙

Litter update on 16 May •…Taken last week, this is what transitioning to food looks like around here. Watered down canned food (Royal Canin Puppydog) helps prep their little GI systems for solid food. This week they have free access to Purina Pro Plan Puppy kibble.

Litter update on 09 May •…A look at our puppy pen as the puppies are four weeks. A Lectro-Kennel heating pad, a potty pad covered tray, Cookie's water and kibble buckets and a water bottle for the puppies, toys of different textures and sounds. The emphasis is on making each section consistent so pups will learn the difference between potty, water, warmth, and play areas. Meals are fed in a separate playpen.

About Dash
Dash is a very special guy here at Windsong Ranch. He and his two girls came to us from another program and we could not be more in love. His excellent temperament and beautiful conformation are only the beginning of his wonderful attributes. He is a medium drive, easy going ranch dog. Equally happy to help move stock or hang back with his pups and teach them great socializing habits.

About Cinder
Cinder is a beautiful smart girl who is happy to go work or stay home. She has an excellent nose and is showing some interest in herding. The first of her litter to learn basic commands Cinder as all the intelligence of her dam with perhaps slightly less drive like her sire. She is naturally protective of her home, people, and stock but shows no aggression as is fitting for the breed.

About Eva
Eva is a prospective dam in our line focusing on companion dogs. She was born September 2024 and still has some more testing to ensure she is fit to breed. Eva is laid back in general but willing to cover ground in the cattle field and search the house three times over when on a scent. She has her mother's long lean build with a sloped forehead and long muzzle helping her breathe open and clear. While this line is more focused on companion dogs we still believe Aussies should retain the physical attributes needed for success on the cattle ranch. She is a joy to have in the home as well as on the trail.

About Cookie
Fireside Classic Cookie is our wonderful pack matriarch. Not only does she do an excellent job raising her puppies but she helps our younger mom with her pups as well. Cookie has a long lean build similar to a border collie. With a medium drive she covers ground gracefully and passes along her easy stride to most of her pups. In addition to her athleticism Cookie also has an amazing temperament. She loves everyone she meets and is always the first in line for hugs and snuggles.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
