I'm Heather S., the breeder behind Windy Haven Farm located in Commiskey, IN. We have carefully raised puppies with wonderful temperaments that thrive in the performance ring and as our companions. Our goal is to produce puppies that are well rounded, true to breed standard, functional partners as well as faithful friends to their loving families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I’ve always loved training but after getting my first sheltie I just couldn’t get enough of this smart, loyal, beautiful herding breed.

  • What makes your program special?

    These dogs are loved as a part of our family. They are our friends, 4H projects, and show ring teammates.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include white and black, sable and white, sable merle and white, blue merle and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Heather

Heather has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Heather partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $400 - $1,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"The price will reflect the type of AKC registration as well as the age and show quality of the puppy. Puppy will come microchipped and up to date on worming and vaccination. A starter sample of food, toy or blanket, and pertinent paperwork will be sent home with the puppy. A deposit will only be required if it is requested that the breeder hold the puppy over two weeks before the new owner is able to take possession."

Heather may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • DNA Disease Panel, von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III), Dermatomyositis, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
