Windy Ridge Miniatures

Kat R.

Breeder of Dachshunds

Meet the breeder

I'm Kat R., the breeder behind Windy Ridge Miniatures located in Moreno Valley, CA. I am a passionate Dachshund breeder. I breed to the standard and nothing short of it. The health of my breeding stock and puppies are first and foremost the most important. All of my dogs are OFA and DNA tested. I do everything I can to ensure the puppies have everything they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs.

Q. & A. with Kat

  • Why did you start breeding?

After raising my kids I got two beautiful German Shepherds. I became interested in breeding and did some research. I knew health was my top priority, but OFA results showed each had one bad hip. Breeding dreams were put on hold until years later. I got a Great Pyrenees as a guardian for the horses. I fell in love with their beauty, independence, and intelligence. I bred Pyrs for years and then Dachshunds.
  • What makes your program special?

I imported my bitch from the Ukraine, I was drawn to the vivid color, long ears and beautiful eye. I am always looking for ways to improve my program. Early Neurological Stimulation was found to improve cardiovascular performance, promote stronger adrenal glands, make the dogs more tolerant of stress, and have a greater resistance to disease. Puppy parents are in awe of the difference it makes in the pups.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
