Q. & A. with Judi Blumenthal
Why did you start breeding?
After years of learning & enjoying what the breed truly had to offer, but seeing (& teaching) the pups generally made available to the non-competing public, I wanted to make a difference in the health, reputation, and overall experience of owning and living with a Sheltie! I wanted to see the general public with sound, healthy, well balanced shelties!!
What makes your program special?
The time, attention, socialization, early exposures & extensive conditioning we provide to every pup sets us apart. This, and our unwavering focus on the 12 weeks of life, prepares every Wolfwood pup to be a happy healthy family member.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle white and tan, blue merle and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Inquisitive, responsive, experienced, and insightful: my spouse and I could not have had a better experience with Wolfwood Shetland Sheepdogs. They are a top-tier breeder who provide the utmost care in their breeding, stud selection, puppy raising, and family-matching. Because of Wolfwood, every step of our process was clear and informative; indeed, we had the unique vantage point of having seen the mother of our puppy compete (and win!) in a local show before she became pregnant! We kept close contact with Wolfwood from conception to the birth of our pup. We are beyond happy with our beautiful, intelligent, and sweet family dog. We can't wait to continue to grow our family with additional shelties in the years to come, as we are now part of the Wolfwood family.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
