Meet the breeder

I'm Lori W., the breeder behind WoodSchott Cairn Terriers located in Savannah, MO. Our dogs are our kids. They live in our home and are spoiled rotten. It is a true joy to produce, raise, and place our pups! We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!

Q. & A. with Lori

  • Why did you start breeding?

Grew up with my dad raising dogs. He raised hunting dogs, from hounds to Shorthairs and Beagles, and then got into Boxers. To be a part of watching each pup arrive, thrive, and to see their personality develop, has been a joy every time. I love being a part of bringing a family the joy of a healthy, even tempered puppy.
  • What makes your program special?

Our babies are raised in our home, right where I can monitor and socialize the pups as they grow. We converted a room in our home for a designated nursery, so that our momma's and their babies can be away from the household noises, for their first few weeks. Once the pups start to toddle, they are moved to our living room. Our adults are on-site and available to be visited with when the new families are looking for a new family member.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include wheaten brindle, red, red brindle, red wheaten, cream brindle, cream, and black brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I was looking for a Carin for a very long time. I could not find any reputable breeders in Colorado. My parents always had a Cairn in the house when I was growing up and I wanted to add one to my family. I found Lori’s page and fell in love with her puppies! I initially reached out and she responded very quickly. We messaged back and forth for a while and she answered all my questions. The adoption process was simple and we were able to adopt our little boy March 2025! I live in Colorado and she is in Missouri and she met us half way in between! That was wonderful! I 100% recommend getting a little one from her!

Lori was absolutely wonderful to work with! She's very responsive to messages and played a huge role in choosing my puppy. Her description and pictures of "Mr. Blue" were so detailed that I knew he was the right one for me! Lori answered all of my questions, walked me through the process, and was there every step of the way until he was in my arms. Cornelius is now almost 7 months old and growing beautifully! Everyone who meets him, falls in love with him. He is smart, goofy, affectionate, and has been a breeze to potty train. 10/10. I recommend Woodschott Cairn Terriers. A lot of love goes into breeding these pups and it shows. Thank you, Lori, for helping me in my journey of finally getting my little dream dog. He's the best!

Very pleased with Lori. We got two puppies, sisters they are. Puppies are happy, healthy and play with each other constantly. I think having them together is good for them. My only advice is the good and the challenges of having two puppies doubles both the fun and the work.

From the very beginning Lori was kind and responsive. She overwhelmingly showed her love and compassion of the breed. It was such a great experience working with her! We are overjoyed with our pup. She raises them as if they are her children. Our girl is healthy and happy and it’s because she came from a good home.
