I'm Rachel S., the breeder behind Woodwind Miniatures located in Grants Pass, OR. We are a mother-daughter duo offering well-tempered, health-tested Poodle, Doodle, and Aussie puppies for loving forever homes. Our program is built with love, care, and intention from the ground up. We care deeply about responsible breeding, and we do everything we can to ensure our dogs and puppies are getting the best care in every aspect of their lives with us. They are happy, intelligent, and cute as can be!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Because of our dedication to both the physical and mental health of these incredible dogs, we breed to pass these traits down to future generations. Poodles, Doodles, and Aussies are incredible breeds, and we decided to start our breeding program in order to preserve the wonderful qualities we found in our dogs. Every litter is always a little different, but it is so fulfilling to see the different personalities and such a joy and challenge to hand-raise each puppy. We love watching them blossom!

  • What makes your program special?

    We hold ourselves to the highest standard when it comes to our dogs and my policies. We are thorough in health testing and caring for our dogs, and we make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual care that it needs to thrive. Our goal is to ensure that every dog that comes from our program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves our care. We look forward to helping you find the puppy of your dreams!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Aussiedoodle puppies include mini and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Rachel

Rachel has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Rachel partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care in placing each puppy with the right family. Before matching, we like to connect with potential families either in person or through a FaceTime call so we can get to know you better. During this time, we talk about your lifestyle, family dynamic, activity level, previous dog experience, and what you’re hoping for in a puppy. As the puppies grow, we carefully observe and evaluate their individual personalities, temperaments, and energy levels. This allows us to better understand which puppy will thrive in different types of homes. Once the puppies are old enough for us to accurately assess their temperaments, we work together with approved families to determine which puppy would be the best match for their household. Our goal is to create successful, lifelong placements where both the puppy and the family are set up to thrive together.”

Puppy prices include between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    I am so over the moon with my little Pua. She is so funny with hiding her greenies in the morning & taking them out to eat later in the day; to her curling up under my chin waiting for some belly rubs & loves while I'm on the couch. She's definitely full of puppy energy and keeps me on my toes. We'll be going to puppy training soon. Rachel has been amazing from the get-go. She stayed in contact with me and responded to ALL my many questions within minutes of me sending them out. When we met up to make the exchange; Rachel was a bit choked up as to having to say goodbye to this special pup; which showed me she cared quite a bit for this little one's wellbeing. I will take good care of Pua & her me. In regard to Good Dog, they were amazing to work with and put me at ease in exchanging funding. They also sent me all kinds of good information on how to be ready for a new dog in the house & and what things to expect from a puppy and what I would need to work on.     We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Rachel and her sweet mom at Woodwind Miniatures! They are absolute angels—so kind, accommodating, and they truly went above and beyond to explain everything to us throughout the entire process. Rachel sent us lots of pictures and videos and was always quick to reply when we had questions. We brought home a miniature Australian shepherd who they had named Lily, but we have renamed her Suzie. Suzie has the sweetest demeanor and is incredibly well-socialized. It is so easy to tell how well-loved and cared for she was during her time with them.     Rachel and her mom were so great to work with! Rachel responded so quickly to all of our questions and was so helpful throughout the entire process! Her description of our puppy was so accurate to her personality and traits. We feel in love with her immediately! Our puppy is almost 6 months old and she’s become a huge part of our family. She’s such a playful and happy pup and we couldn’t be luckier to have her! She was so easy to potty train and crate train. She’s extremely smart and is a very fast learner! We had a long 6 hour drive back home and our puppy (10 weeks old at the time) did so well and continues to do well in car rides!     Rachel was very easy to communicate with and helpful as I asked questions. When I picked up my puppy, we bonded immediately, and I could tell she had been snuggled and handled well. She's incredibly smart--she picked up potty training super fast and has had only two pee accidents in the house over three weeks. She started sleeping six hours at night after a few days. She already knows sit, plays fetch for treats, and is learning to walk on a leash. She can be shy with strangers and takes the measure of everything before engaging, but when she warms up, she is rambunctious, curious, and hilarious. She's already brought oodles of fun and joy into my empty nester life!
