During this time, we ensure they receive the necessary care, including up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, a clean and sanitary environment, daily activities, and plenty of socialization.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Like many of you, I was once in search of a Mini Dachshund. However, I encountered numerous breeders with high prices driven by exotic coat colors, but when I inquired about health testing, no response. I want to assure you that, with us, you’ll not only find beautiful coats and colors, but you can also be confident that every effort has been made to ensure the health and well-being of your puppy.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding program participates in AKC conformation shows to ensure we produce well-structured Mini Dachshunds. We conduct health testing that are OFA-certified, including tests for Eyes, Cardiac, and Patella, as well as DNA testing for PRA. All tests are in line with the recommendations from the Dachshund Club of America.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include brindle, black and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Karen

Karen has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Profile, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    From initial inquiry to take home day, Karen was extremely responsive, accommodating, and patient. As first time owners, she was willing to answer every question we had to increase our preparedness to bring the puppy home. Additionally, Karen has true passion and care for safe breeding. These are qualities not all breeders exhibit. She goes above and beyond to make sure the puppies are healthy. She does this by practicing safe breeding, creating a clean and spacious environment for the puppies to be in, keeping records of lineage, and completing various health checks. Additionally, she took quality time to socialize, intro potty train, and integrate our puppy with young children, to guide her in her first weeks/months of life. This has made it easier for us to socialize our puppy in public spaces. Post transaction, Karen still checks in to make sure our puppy is doing well, showing that she cares deeply for the puppies who come out of Wooofyland beyond the sale.
