Meet the breeder
I'm Jennifer S., the breeder behind Xanadu located in Summerville, SC. I am a veterinarian. I started showing dogs as an undergrad student in conformation and performance events. I bred my 1st litter in 2016. My knowledge and experience help me produce healthy, beautiful and balanced, even-tempered dogs. My goal is to better the breed and provide terrific companions.

Why did you start breeding?
I dabbled in conformation showing at age 19, with my first dog, a Flat-Coated Retriever. I eventually became involved with Welsh Springer Spaniels and was lucky enough to own a wonderful dog, Penelope, who exemplified the breed in so many ways that I wanted to start a breeding program with her as my foundation.What makes your program special?
My dogs are first and foremost my pets, and are well-loved and cared for. As a veterinarian, I do tend to focus on health in my program, while also maintaining breed type, soundness, and exemplary temperaments. I strive to breed for the ‘whole dog’ rather than a few particular traits.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Welsh Springer Spaniel puppies are red and white. Biewer Terrier puppies are black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Jennifer

"Price includes contract with health guarantee, first vaccinations, all deworming, microchipping, AKC registration, socialization, puppy pack to go home (including food). Non-refundable deposit required to secure waiting list position. If no puppy is available, can refund or transfer deposit to another litter. Remaining balance due by time puppy is between 8-10 weeks."

Litter update on 02 Dec 2025 •…Atlas and Piper were bred this past week. I will be checking for confirmation of pregnancy via ultrasound in a few weeks. If you are on my waiting list for this litter, could you please send me a message to confirm that you wish to remain on the waitlist? If so, please include your preference for a male or female or no preference. Fingers crossed, we are extremely anxious for these puppies!

About Atlas
Atlas is a sweet, energetic, and curious Welsh Springer Spaniel. He is eager to please and he loves toys. Atlas finished his CH and GCH easily. He is a very handsome boy and moves beautifully. Atlas is the son of our Murphy, who is out of our Penelope and represents three generations of careful and well-thought out breeding. I expect Atlas and Piper to complement each other excellently and the puppies to be gorgeous, very smart, and excellent representatives of the breed.

About Piper
Piper is THE most clever dog I have had to date! She is sweet and loving and always up for anything. Special talents include opening doors, crates, kennels of any kind. She is extremely agile and after her litter goes home I plan to start her in agility. She can leap a 6+ foot fence with ease. She is a petite girl, with lovely type that should be well complemented by Atlas. Piper enjoys snuggling and jumping onto pretty much any raised surface and exploring the world. We love this little girl and can’t wait to see Atlas x Piper puppies for our next generation of WSS at Xanadu!

About Selma
Selma is Biewer Terrier through and through! She is a gorgeous and sweet little girl who can run with the big dogs! Her favorite activity is to snuggle and play food games. She is a pro at doggie puzzles. Despite her small stature, she can hike and likes to go just about anywhere. This beautiful girl is going to be a great mama!

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized, Full Embark Panel, Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
