I'm Mark Y., the breeder behind Yates Family Labrador located in Arlington, VA. We breed AKC registered Labradors with purpose, integrity, and heart. We are a multi-generational, family run program located in Virginia, focused on producing well-socialized, genetically sound puppies that grow into incredible family companions.
Q. & A. with Mark
Why did you start breeding?
I was raised in it—helping with whelpings, training, and care from a young age. I’m a lifelong Labrador enthusiast, and I’ve spent countless hours researching and networking to better the breed. It’s a full-time job, but I truly love what I do and can’t imagine my life without it.
What makes your program special?
YFL is a family-run program built on decades of experience and a deep love for Labs. We raise puppies in our home with hands-on care, early socialization, and a focus on health, temperament, and thoughtful placement. Every pup is matched with the right family and backed by lifelong support.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
