I'm Sonia, the breeder behind York Terrier Treasures located in Brooklyn, NY. Each of our dogs has filled our lives with love and joy. We're committed to raising healthy, happy puppies who bring that same joy to others. Our goal is to match every pup with a caring home where they can live a long, love-filled life as part of the family.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I began breeding after seeing the harm caused by pet shops selling sick, poorly bred dogs. It damages families and the breed community. With deep knowledge of many breeds, I chose to start my program with one of my personal favorites—Yorkshire Terriers—and occasionally Miniature Poodles.

  • What makes your program special?

    As the Primary caretaker, I’ve intentionally kept my program small to avoid burnout and ensure quality. This allows me to give 100% of my time and attention to my dam, sire, and their pups—meeting every need with care, patience, and love from day one through go-home day.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sonia

Sonia has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (ADAMST10 Exon 17), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), L-2-Hydroxyglutaric Aciduria (L2HGA), Yorkshire Terrier Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We purchased our beautiful boy Ernie from York Terrier Treasures and we could not be happier. Sonia was very knowledgeable about the Yorkie breed and shared tips with us to help with the process of bringing home a new puppy.     Sonia is an amazing breeder and we adore our little Freya! She truly is a treasure! Sonia made the entire process seamless, stress free and interactive. We received weekly photos and also had weekly Zoom calls with our Freya (which made us feel like she was already part of the family even before we picked her up). It was a great experience to see her interact with her litter mates and get to know her personality. Freya came to us well adjusted to every day life, happy, and 100% in good health!     Sonia was very easy to work with, she made the process so easy. Once reserved we did video calls so I could see my fur baby, she gave some good tips for Yorkie. If your looking for your new fur baby I recommend Sonia 100%. I had several questions after going home, and Sonia answered them for me .     Sonia is a gem; and transaction through GoodDog.com was easy and secure. Sonia cares about her dogs and pups and made the whole process so easy. We zoomed weekly after Remi was six weeks old and I watched my pup grow and interact with his litter mates. What fun that was!
