I'm Cheryl M., the breeder behind Yorkie Perfection located in Hixson, TN. I strive to produce the healthiest puppies possible who meet breed standards and are cleared from genetic abnormalities. Health and temperament will make or break a wonderful long happy life with a family pet or service dog. I have felt the pain of losing a little friend due to choosing a breeder with poor practices and want to help other families escape that experience.
Q. & A. with Cheryl
Why did you start breeding?
We lost our first Yorkie at 2 years old after taking him to his regular vet, then within 24 hours to the emergency hospital. All his systems failed but they could not tell me why even after $4000 in testing and treatment. We were devastated, so years of researching breeders, health testing, nutrition, genetics, and veterinary care led me to focus on these subjects to make sure the quality and perfection of each litter is reached.
What makes your program special?
I concentrate on quality bloodlines, genetic testing, and guaranteeing healthy stock with the highest quality veterinary care possible. Educating families as to the details of what a wonderful pet home offers is key.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
