I'm Megan M., the breeder behind Yukikaze Siberians located in New Hampshire. I have a small mid distance team of working line Siberian Huskies. We have fun training and racing during the mushing season, and we enjoy competing in various dog sports as well.
Q. & A. with Megan
Why did you start breeding?
I never thought I'd breed. I fell in love with the working Siberians I got from my breeder and mentor, and I particularly felt one female, Yona, was too amazing to not be bred. As time went on my thoughts solidified on that and I decided I wanted to preserve the working Siberian, and also to have a program of dogs for myself for years to come that I like in working ability and temperament.
What makes your program special?
My program is not special from other working programs. Other kennels have more experience and mileage on their dogs than I do. I strive to follow in their steps to breed healthy and well tempered dogs. My goal is to produce dogs that embody what a Siberian sled dog should be that are incredible in harness and mind. I am passionate about my program and team.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Yona
Yona is an extremely sweet, cuddly, and laid back dog at home. She has an amazing temperament as she is extremely tolerant of any dog or person and has the patience of a saint, which makes her great at teaching new dogs. She naturally wanted to lead from the first time I had her in harness, and she quickly gained confidence to take control of the team even beside my strongest boys.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Siberian Husky Polyneuropathy, Type 1 (SHPN1), Siberian Husky Shaking Puppy Syndrome, Type 1 (SPS1), Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
