Krystal has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Krystal partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“I begin the matching process once the puppies are developmentally ready to be accurately evaluated — typically around 7 weeks of age. At that stage, I perform the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test and combine those results with weeks of daily observation, structured Puppy Culture activities, and hands-on interaction with each puppy. I carefully evaluate temperament, confidence levels, drive, recovery, human focus, and overall personality. I also spend time getting to know my families — their lifestyle, experience level, goals (sport, active companion, family pet, etc.), and home environment. Using all of that information together allows me to make thoughtful, temperament-based matches that set both the puppy and the family up for long-term success. Families may be presented with more than one puppy who may fit their lifestyle, in which case those first in line based on date deposit was received will choose a puppy first and I will make my way down the list in that order. While I absolutely take preferences such as gender and color into consideration when possible, placement is ultimately based on best fit — because compatibility and lifelong success will always come first.”

“The price includes first round of vaccinations, deworming, health guarantee, early Puppy Culture socialization, Volhard Personality/Temperament Testing, and limited AKC registration (non-breeding). Deposits are required one week after litter birth. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or gender. Overall litter prices will vary depending on parents and their achievements.”
Krystal may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Krystal offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Krystal directly.

About Phoenix
Phoenix is an athletic, Border Collie with an outgoing personality and an exceptional love for performance work. At a young age Phoenix proved herself as a versatile sport dog with accomplishments in dock diving, disc, and Barn Hunt well before the age of two. Phoenix earned an invitation to the 2025 NADD Nationals after a standout first dock diving season, including jumping 19.8 feet at the 2025 South Central Regionals to place 3rd in the Senior Division. She currently holds a personal best of 21.6 feet in dock diving and carries titles including DJ, DS, DSA, DM, and RATO, continuing to demonstrate tremendous athletic potential as she matures. Phoenix is highly trainable with strong food and toy drive, making her eager to learn and enjoyable to work with across multiple sports. Phoenix is social, expressive, and environmentally confident while still maintaining strong focus and work ethic with her handler. She thrives on activity, learning, and interaction, bringing intensity and enthusiasm to the field while remaining affectionate and biddable with her people.

About Zodiak
Zodiak is a proven performance and companion dog who represents the balance Zahara Border Collies strives for — athletic ability paired with an “off switch” in everyday life. He is an accomplished sport dog with titles in dock diving, Barn Hunt, NASDA, trick dog, and CGCA, including competing at the 2025 NADD Nationals and earning his RATM in Barn Hunt. Zodiak is an intelligent, handler-oriented dog with strong engagement, natural versatility, and a thoughtful working style rather than extreme intensity. He is not a social butterfly and prefers working over cuddling, but is deeply affectionate and loyal with his people. He produces puppies with strong toy drive, athletic potential, and affectionate personalities while still being capable of settling in the home. His offspring are actively competing in a variety of sports including disc, Barn Hunt, dock diving, and search and rescue with one of his sons earning an invitation to 2025 NADD Nationals.

Working with Zahara Border Collies has really been a delight - her facility/set up is so great for all her dogs and the puppies were given so much early socialization. The communication was timely and informative. Trickster came home with a lot of confidence and personality, and I've been sending a lot of updates and photos.

Krystal is an excellent breeder that is truly passionate about breeding healthy pups! Duke is easily the best puppy I’ve ever raised and at 13 weeks he is an absolute rockstar. Incredibly intelligent, not afraid of anything, listens extremely well and is a total love bug. Krystal also makes the process incredibly easy with her timely communication and loads of information. Love my little guy!
