I'm Tamera C., the breeder behind ZMC Acres Doxies located in Flint, TX. Our dogs are our passion, they are members of our family. We incorporate them in every part of our lives. They enjoy couch surfing, daily exercise, and snuggles in our beds. We take many measures to raise healthy, well developed, happy and playful puppies as we prepare them for their forever homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    As a small child, I had a love for animals and desired to be a vet. I was first exposed to breeding while helping my folks breed their hunting dogs. I found the biological and medical aspects fascinating, but found myself drawn to witnessing the miracle of life. My love of animals coupled with my intrigue of biology has allowed me the knowledge to be responsible and selective in pairing adults.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our family works together to create the best possible start for our babies. We focus on all the little details so that when one of our babies enter your home it can be as smooth and comfortable of a transition as possible. Our hope is that they become a beloved member of your family for many years to come. This is a labor of love that we are continually trying to fine tune and improve upon.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Tamera

Tamera has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Tamera partners with them to find the best puppy match.

"We take great care in placing each puppy with the right family. Once the puppies are old enough for us to evaluate their personalities usually between 6-8 weeks old."

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"This includes our guarantee, AKC registration, current vaccines and preventatives, assessment by a licensed vet. We also work on socialization, noise familiarity, potty and crate training and more. This non-refundable deposit will secure your babies as your own."

Contract & health guarantee

Tamera may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     We received our Lucy, from Tamera Cabrera. This being my first time to purchase a dachshund from a breeder. We been long time Dachshund owners.     Tamera from the beginning was such a great experience. Not only was she thorough but she gave me a peace of calmness that I know I was waiting for her to bring Winston into my life.
