I'm John H., the breeder behind A&J Kennel located in Howe, IN. At A&J Kennel, we are a family-run program dedicated to raising high-quality Cocker Spaniels with love, care, and purpose. Our puppies socialized from birth with children and other dogs to develop confident, well-rounded temperaments. We are committed to giving every puppy the best start in life. They are introduced to litter box training early and come up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and are thoroughly vet checked before joining their new families.Our passion for Cocker Spaniels goes far beyond breeding it’s part of who we are. We are dedicated to raising healthy, beautiful puppies while supporting the families who welcome them. We offer ongoing breeder support and are always here as a lifelong resource.At A&J Kennel, we don’t just raise puppies we raise lifelong companions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got into breeding through our deep love for Cocker Spaniels and a desire to share that love with others. What started as a passion for the breed has grown into a commitment to raising healthy, well-loved puppies for families to enjoy.

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes our program special is the love and care we put into every puppy. We treat them like family and focus on health, temperament, and proper socialization to give them the best start in life

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include buff and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from John

John has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, John partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit that secures a spot on the general waitlist. The remaining $3,000 - $3,700 is due before pickup, plus applicable taxes and fees.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    I work a 12 hour shift and we were debating puppy vs adult for our family. We knew the dog MUST be kid friendly. We contacted A&J Kennel about an adult they were retiring. I didn't even get to ask if we could come see her because they suggested meeting her with the kids. We drove 4 hours to just see the her and she was so friendly! They were so nice and answered all of our questions. They took her to the vet for a final checkup and vaccinations before we took her home the following week. They are fantastic to work with and have checked on Nala to see how she is settling in!

    A&J Kennel exceeded all of our hopes and expectations with our puppy. From day one, they were responsive continuously posting updates and pictures.
