I'm Leslie W., the breeder behind Antique Aussies located in Platteville, CO. We have been breeding Double Registered Australian Shepherds for over 40 years. When you purchase an Antique Aussie, you are welcomed into our family. We work extra hard to produce puppies that are healthy, good temperaments, and intelligent. They can adjust to all kinds of situations easily.
Q. & A. with Leslie
Why did you start breeding?
After having several Aussies, I wanted to do my part to improve and make a mark towards the quality of the breed. I spent many evenings studying all the pedigrees and talking to other breeders. I registered my Kennel name "Antique" in the early '80s with ASCA. I strive to breed and register the highest quality Aussies I can. You don't stay in business as long as I have if your not doing it right.
What makes your program special?
Our puppies are raised on a ranch. They are exposed to all sorts of situations and are extremely well socialized. They are around water, rocks, logs, dirt, grass, cats, other dogs, kids, adults, loud noises, horses bickering, etc. We also do extensive health testing on the parents to produce as healthy of puppy possible. When a puppy goes home, they are ready for a new adventure with your family.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
