I'm Kathy B., the breeder behind Aussies Edge Farm located in Tuftonboro, NH. With over 18 years of experience breeding working Aussies I focus on the original “foundation” working lines. I am constantly educating myself on the best breeding practices to incorporate into my program. I love sharing my beautiful dogs with others who will appreciate them as much as I do.

Why did you start breeding?
I owned and operated a working farm and needed a breed that could not only protect my livestock, but assist in moving them. I needed a working dog that had drive. The working Aussies were the perfect fit! I loved my dogs so much, I had to share their great traits with others that have similar lifestyles!What makes your program special?
We keep tails and dewclaws intact and all-natural. It is so important for balance and changing directions quickly while they are in the field moving stock or in the agility competition rings. We also supply a lifetime support for you and your Aussie! We have a network of Edge Aussie owners that are also dog trainers to assist with any bumps in the road! We are truly The Edge Family!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Litter update on 27 Aug 2025 •…We perform ENS on the puppies daily… pups in order of the video… Rodeo, Howdy, Bling, Bits, Bridle, Boots, Rein, & Buckle at 1.5 weeks old. We use Puppy Culture’s Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) it aims to produce dogs with better stress tolerance, improved disease resistance, and a stronger cardiovascular system by providing mild, brief stressors to stimulate the puppy’s nervous system during a critical developmental window. This “jump-starting” of the nervous system can be done through simple handling exercises like holding the puppy in different positions, stimulating their paws, and exposing them to a cool surface, which helps them grow into healthier, more well-adjusted adult dogs. #puppyculturepuppies #australianshepherd #aussieswithtails #preservingthebreed

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Profile, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

I highly recommend Kathy as a breeder. From the start, her communication has been excellent. Any questions I had before bringing my puppy home, and even after, she always responded quickly and thoroughly. She is always willing to help and you can tell she truly cares about her puppies and wants them to succeed in the long run. I got Cowgirl (Now Momo) from Kathy’s Labor Day litter and she has been amazing. As a first time dog owner, I did alot of research on what to expect, but she has been exceeding every expectations like crazy. She is the kind of dog that will give you just as much love as you put into her. She loves attention and being around people, but what stands out even more is how responsive she is to me and how much she wants to work. Momo is very smart and picks up on new commands and tricks extremely fast. She is also very obedient. I decided to train her myself instead of doing classes, and at a young age her self control is so so impressive. I’ve had friends ask if I had professional training help because of how well behaved and attentive she is for a puppy. That being said, she still has a fun side and chaotic side which just adds to her personality. Overall, my experience with Kathy has been nothing but positive. Her communication, support, and dedication really show in the quality and temperament of her puppies.
