Meet the breeder

I'm Maricela C., the breeder behind Avion's Cavaliers located in New Braunfels, TX. I am a small preservation show breeder. My focus is on the correct type, health, temperament, and conformation. Only a very limited number of puppies are raised and bred. I occasionally have puppies available to approved companion homes. I take the selection of my puppy buyers seriously. Thorough OFA heart, eyes, health, DNA genetic testing as well as hip, elbow and patella xrays are conducted prior to breeding.

Q. & A. with Maricela

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I acquired my first show Cavalier I had a commitment to the breeder from whom I acquired my Sundae. I soon learned the importance of preserving this wonderful breed and involve myself in actively breeding for health, temperament, breed standard and preservation of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
  • What makes your program special?

Breeder of quality Cavalier King Charles Spaniels through careful selection of pedigrees and health history. My puppies are born and raised in my home. I conduct health tests that include DNA genetic tests, patellas, heart, eyes, and general health tests prior to breeding. I attend seminars on whelping, nutrition, and general professional training sessions. My focus is the correct type, health, temperament, and conformation. My puppies are trained to walk on a leash with harness, potty (doggie door) trained, crate trained, and socialized before going to their forever homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
