I'm Robyn E., the breeder behind B and B Riverbottom Kennel located in Bruner, MO. We started breeding with the simple mission to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to find them the perfect future homes. We have placed our puppies and homes with very versatile rolls. They have been mashed into families as family members, beloved pets and take on a second role as companions, hiking and hunting, buddies and alert service animals.
Q. & A. with Robyn
Why did you start breeding?
Growing up on a dairy farm both of us were very involved in breeding programs with involvement in FFA and 4H . Our parents raised dairy calves, hogs, sheep and horses. After I was married, I raised AKC cocker spaniels and mini schnauzers. Randy and I both share a love for the versatility and loyalty of the lab retriever and the ability to offer dilute colors, and also standard non delete colors.
What makes your program special?
As a small family, hobby breeding operation. We both are able to commit quality time to our adult dogs and puppies that will leave us well socialized and loving pets to their future family. We work closely with veterinarian and understand the importance of health, testing parents, immunizations for puppies and adults. We encourage keeping in touch with our families once puppies are adopted.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Dilute Retriever puppies include silver, charcoal, yellow, black, chocolate, fox red, and champagne. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
B and B Riverbottom Kennel reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dilute Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
