I'm Andrea B., the breeder behind Baker Pastures located in Castalian Springs, TN. We hold ourselves to high standards for the integrity of our program. All of our puppies are socialized, nurtured, and loved! It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.
Q. & A. with Andrea
Why did you start breeding?
I've always been a dog person, or an animal person in general. On top of that, biology and genetics was always a fun topic for me in school. Fast forward to having my two current rescues and seeing the health issues that they have and knowing that a lot of their pain could have been avoided through ethical breeding. So that's what I plan to do, create dogs that are well balanced mentally and physically.
What makes your program special?
We strive to better the breed of Rottweiler by trying to hold as true to the set standard of the breed while getting a dog that is not only a loving part of your family but a quiet deterrent for those that mean you ill. We breed for conformation, intelligence, and temperament.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
