Meet the breeder

I'm Bobby Jo S., the breeder behind Beacon Hill Aussies located in Frazee, MN. We have AKC and ASCA registered Aussies and we compete in Conformation, Agility, Rally, Obedience, Scent work, and more. Our dogs are health tested, genetic panels are completed, and we breed for temperament, versatility, intelligence, and conformation. Our Aussies live in our home and are raised using puppy culture and avidog. We have confident, well socialized puppies that love learning and love exploring.

Q. & A. with Bobby Jo

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding because my breeder wanted me to breed my girl. I had no idea what being a conservation breeder of well bred dogs meant but I dived in and have been hooked on Aussies ever since. I love that my girl has brought me to this path in life.
  • What makes your program special?

With a scientific mind, I believe it helps me in learning about breeding, breed standards, how to evaluate a litter, what the genetic variants convey and what is OK to move forward with and what to avoid. As a dog trainer, I also love seeing what these dogs can do. I love competing with them and seeing them thrive in any venue. Competing also helps me to see the versatility in each dog.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
