Meet the breeder

I'm Melinda R., the breeder behind Benchmark Cockers located in Delphi, IN. Benchmark Cockers is a collaboration between mother (Melinda) and daughter (Megan). We are a simple, family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. We focus on quality care and health with each litter we raise.

Q. & A. with Melinda

  • Why did you start breeding?

Megan started showing dogs in 4-H when she was 9 years old. Her passion for dogs was obvious. We expanded to the AKC show ring...and the rest is history!
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are members of our family...not kennel dogs. We carefully select puppies we keep to evaluate for the show ring. All others are placed as pets on limited registration.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red roan, red and white, blue roan and tan, blue roan, brown roan and tan, brown roan, brown white and tan, black white and tan, black and white, and brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
