I'm Susan B., the breeder behind Bentlane Cavaliers located in Kirkland, WA. Our happy, healthy bloodlines are bred to the written standard. We produce top-quality companions and conformation prospects. The Cavalier standard is our guide when breeding with our champion bloodlines as we follow the National and American Kennel Club recommendations on health testing, socialization and raising of pups.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I am specifically passionate about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, but breeding is just part of my DNA. My grandparents raised and trained hunting and service dogs, alongside my parents who raised and showed English Springer Spaniels and Smooth Fox Terriers. I grew up with dogs of different temperament and personalities and have learned from the best about dog management and the proper ways to breed.

  • What makes your program special?

    I'm very careful when it comes to the health of our dogs. My goal is to better the breed in all of the ways that we can. My dogs are a part of our family first and foremost, and are born into a loving environment before they are placed into their forever homes. They are well socialized and handled with care. I look forward to connecting with you!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are blenheim. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Susan

Puppy prices include between $3,000 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Breeder-Reported Testing

Excellent level

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • VetGen DNA Testing, Dry Eye Curly Coat Syndrome (CKSID), Episodic Falling Syndrome (EFS)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
