  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), GM1 Gangliosidosis (GLB1), Shiba Inu Type, Full Embark Panel, DNA Disease Panel

We had such a great experience with Bonsai Shibas. We were actually in touch with them for almost a year. At one point we were ready to adopt, but something came up on our end, and they were so nice about it. No pressure at all, just really patient and understanding, and they let us move forward when we were ready. When Whisky was born, they kept sending us photos and videos, which we loved. It made us feel connected to him even before bringing him home. They were already calling him “Whisky,” so he basically came to us knowing his name. He’s super well socialized. He knows how to play with cats, puppies, and dogs of all sizes. That helped a lot when we introduced him to our 2 year old Shiba Inu. He settled in really fast and is confident and playful. They also handled his flight, and we really appreciated that he was in cabin. They kept us updated the whole time and made sure he was okay, even bringing him to relief areas. When we met him, he was happy, playful, and honestly showed no signs of stress from the trip. We had a different experience with our first dog, so this really meant a lot. What we love most is that they don’t just treat this like a business, they really care. They still check in on Whisky and are always there if we have questions. We honestly feel so lucky we found them. They’re rare, and the whole experience was 100% worth it. Highly recommend.

Jetta was extremely responsive from the very beginning, answering all my questions about the process and the puppies. She even reached out to other clients to ask about their dogs living in hot climates, as my husband had concerns about that. A few months later, when we were ready to officially start the process, she was once again amazing patiently replying to all our new questions and making us feel very comfortable. When we first contacted her, we were hoping for a Black and Tan female. However, at some point a beautiful sashige red was born. Once she confirmed that she was available, Jetta gave us all the time we needed to think it through. We decided to go for her, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. Throughout the process, Jetta constantly sent us videos and photos. Sometimes I would even ask if she had more, and she would happily send extra updates. Pickup day went very smoothly, and once Nami and I were back home, my husband and I were truly amazed by all the love and work Jetta had put into her. We have cats, and Nami is incredibly well-behaved around them thanks to the way Jetta socialized her with her own cats. She was also already potty trained, which made everything so much easier for us. On top of that, she was crate trained an absolute game changer. We were also pleasantly surprised by how comfortable Nami is with handling. She allows me to touch and clean her paws and do light grooming with very little complaint (and surprisingly little Shiba Inu drama!), which really shows how much early care and desensitization she received. To this day, I keep thanking Jetta for all the love and dedication she put into raising Nami. If we (hopefully in the future) decide to get a second Shiba Inu, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to contact Jetta again. I still send her updates and photos of Nami and all her adventures in her new home.

Jetta was absolutely wonderful to work with! We already had one Shiba and had been looking for awhile to find the right breeder that we felt comfortable with adopting our second Shiba from. We were extremely fortunate in finding Jetta, who was very kind and helpful throughout the whole process. She made everything very smooth and provided updates and pictures along the way. Our little boy, Yoshi, is the perfect addition to our family. He has a wonderful temperament and fit in almost immediately with our four year old female Shiba and even our elderly cat. Yoshi is a smart, beautiful, and friendly little Shiba who came to us very healthy and happy. Jetta and the family at Bonsai Shibas clearly put so much knowledge, love, and care into raising their Shibas and I highly recommend them for anyone looking to adopt a Shiba into their family.

Jetta was really responsive and worked with us while we lived a state away. We got him recognizing his name, doing pretty well with potty breaks, chipped, and with his first round of vaccines! He's even helped socialize our son's dog! If you get a Shiba here, expect them to be very intelligent, energetic, and with distinct personalities! Satoshi learned "sit" and "come here" really quickly, and he learned to deal with more anxious dogs very well.

Jetta is the absolute best! We first got Loki - a red girl - and fell absolutely in love we got our second dog, Milky Way - a black and tan boy - and are so happy with the two of them. Jetta was always so responsive and would give us constant updates about our puppies. Couldn’t recommend BonsaiShibas anymore - the absolute best!!!

We are truly in love with our boy from Bonsai! We have a very chill and friendly 8 year old Shiba already, and we wanted a new family member before he becomes too old to appreciate a new puppy in his life. I've been searching through breeders for a couple years, and most fell short of expectations until I found this one. They have beautiful dogs of course, but what mattered most is a friendly, sociable, and sweet Shiba (if you know the breed, this REALLY is important), from very healthy lines and preferably raised in the home with lots of attention and care. Everything I had hoped for, and more were met by Jetta and her family. Every part of the process was well communicated, and the amount of puppy updates is impressive. She even recommended the parents that would most likely provide the temperment we were hoping for, and he is exactly what we dreamed of. The exposures they provide the puppies with have made training and working with him very easy, clipping nails, brushing, vaccuuming, car rides, being held, and puppy mouthing is almost all licks instead of bites. We've already taught him to sit, wait, lay down, give paw, spin in a circle, come when called. Even more bonus points since he came housebroken, not even one accident in the three weeks we've been with him. Our next puppy will 100% be from Bonsai as long as they are still growing potatoes when the time comes. We have our pefect little dude, and my big boy is like a puppy again when playing and chilling with his little bro. Even our vet loved him, and was deighted to see a Shiba that is so friendly and tolerant. We adore Kit, and are forever grateful for being matched up with him.
