Carey partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We take great care in making sure our pups are matched to the right homes. We start are matching process around 5 to 6 weeks of age, once we have a clear picture of temperaments and personalities, to help insure we fit each family with their perfect puppy.”

At this stage, pups are eating all their meals in the kennels. This helps us make a positive connection with the kennel, be able to monitor how much each pup is eating, and teach them to slow down as they eat since they don’t have to worry about others getting their food. First video of pups shows in order Danvers, Stark, Wanda, and Pepper. Second video shows Steve, Scarlett, and Bucky!

Compiled video of the pups being bathed and blow dried to show how we go about building confidence around grooming with the pups. We also regularly clean their ears and clip their toe nails!

Going through the car wash! While it was startling at first (very normal lol) they all did a great job recovering immediately and then relaxing while watching it!

We couldn't be happier with our beautiful puppy from Burr Oak Hills Kennel. Carey sets her puppies up for success from day one and truly cares about them. Our puppy was remarkably calm for the three-hour drive home, adapted to our house instantly, and slept through the night in her crate right away. Carey was fantastic to work with. She was organized, professional and highly responsive throughout the process. Her communication was wonderful—she kept us updated weekly . At pickup, our puppy was freshly bathed and came with a thoughtful go-home bag filled with toys, a blanket, food, treats, supplies, and detailed documentation of her growth and training. We highly recommend Carey!

We just brought home our golden retriever boy - Delany from Burr Oak Kennel. Carey was terrific to work and I would highly recommend her if you are considering a new golden retriever. She is extremely professional & an excellent breeder. She kept us informed of the puppies progress sending pictures & videos as well as useful information. Delany was turned over to us with a full packet of info, documentation, food, treats & snuggle toys & blankets with his mother’s scent to help him transition to his new forever home. We are over the moon in love with our Delany!!

We really enjoyed working with Carey, she was very responsive, caring and kept us up to date along the growing journey of our sweet baby! She answered any and all our questions, she provided clear health and genetic testing which we appreciate and what we were looking for. She worked with us very closely on what we were looking for as in service dog and described his temperament and how well he was going along with certain situations, sounds and environments. She also made pick up day seamless and provided a very detailed schedule of his day to day routine which we love. The folder she gave us with all of his info was very neatly laid out and professional included a lot of information week by week of his growing plus more! Also had the cutest snuggle puppy and blankey with his mom and siblings smell which he also loves!

Carey at Burr Oak Hills Kennel was very responsive and very helpful when it came to adopting a puppy. The entire way she provided me with photos and updates. When I was able to get my pup the paperwork that came with him was top notch, even the Vet was in awe of how much detail was involved. I would definitely buy a puppy from them again if I was interested in the future
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
