Meet the breeder

I'm Megan M., the breeder behind Cacti Cavaliers located in Gilbert, AZ. Our breeding dogs are a part of our family and were chosen from OFA tested parents. They have also passed the OFA tests themselves. We are a small breeding program that never has more than one litter at a time. We truly enjoy loving on these puppies and preparing them for their furever families.

Q. & A. with Megan

  • What makes your program special?

We specialize in making sure that our pups have a proper puppy growth curriculum to ensure that they are the best that they can be. Our puppies have early neurological stimulation exercises. We do scent introduction as well as exposure to a variety of noises to help them grow into confident young pups. As the puppies grow they will interact with dogs of all sizes, cats, and kids of all ages.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Cacti Cavaliers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
