Meet the breeder

I'm Evelina B., the breeder behind California Spaniels located in Shingle Springs, CA. At California Spaniels, we are a small, family-operated breeder dedicated to raising healthy, happy, and well-socialized Spaniels with love and integrity. Located in the heart of California, we specialize in breeding exceptional American Cocker and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, guided by a deep respect for the breed standard and a lifelong passion for dogs. As a proudly ethical breeder, our dogs are part of our family first. All of our breeding pairs are health tested for genetic conditions, temperament, and conformation to ensure every puppy starts life with the best possible foundation. We raise our puppies in a home environment, exposing them to everyday sights, sounds, and gentle handling to support early socialization. We follow responsible breeding practices, placing the health and wellbeing of our dogs above all else. Our puppies go to their forever homes with up-to-date vaccinations, vet checks, basic training, fully potty trained and a lifetime of support from us. Whether you’re seeking a loyal companion, a show-quality pup, or simply want to connect with a breeder who truly cares, California Spaniels is here to help you find your perfect match.

Q. & A. with Evelina

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got into breeding by adding two cockers, that come from extremely good lines, to our family. We always wanted to show and breed cockers so we started off with the perfect pair.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program stands out in the fact that we are a family with a beloved pet whom we chose to breed. By doing this we ensure that these pups are given one on one attention and neither they or their parents are ever kenneled. We have realized that many breeders keep several mamas in kennels with their pups and both mama and puppies rarely get human contact making these pups not a great choice for family pets (in our opinion) as opposed to us who have one mama and can devote our full attention to her and her pups. Our pups will be scent trained, desensitized (using the Pat Hastings method) and adequately but safely socialized with our farm animals/ other pets, children and adults. We meticulously chose our mama and papa due to their calm and sweet temperament along with their generations of champion blood lines and clean health testing records of their’s and their parents before them. We are beyond excited for what the future holds for our small breeding program!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Cocker Spaniel puppies include buff and white and buff. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
