Meet the breeder

I'm Deann B., the breeder behind Camden's Caring Canines located in Camden, IN. Our pets are healthy, happy, well trained, and much loved. Our pups are from exceptional bloodlines, chosen for excellent health and beautiful confirmation. Our goal is to breed and train polite, obedient canine companions. Our dogs are known for their intelligence and ease in training and for their calm, companionable personalities. We train our adults; and many of our adult dogs have their Canine Good Citizen Title. We have bred quality labs for over ten years and have many, many, satisfied dog owners. We are a very small kennel, inspected and approved by AKC, with only a few litters a year. Our dogs are our pets and get lots of love and attention from us and our children. We look forward to talking to you! Due to a change in circumstances, we are no longer breeding Cavaliers-we love the breed, but have chosen to focus on our labs.

Q. & A. with Deann

  • Why did you start breeding?

My brother gave our son a chocolate lab for his birthday in 2008, and we fell in love with labs. Our daughter, of course, wanted her own dog, and our love of labs and our breeding story began with those two wonderful labs-Trooper and Nicki.
  • What makes your program special?

We focus on healthy, champion bloodlines, with a special focus on trainability and personable temperaments. We have an interest in therapy/service dogs and we are involved with Canines for Christ Therapy Dogs. We spend time with our puppies from the moment they are born. They get early neurological stimulation, many different types of socialization, and a strong dedication to their health and well-being. We are a support to our families from the time they contact us through the life of their puppy. We welcome you into our puppy family.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

I cannot say thank you enough for everything Deann did before I got to bring my sweet girl home. She has slept through the night since day 1, has been so easy to potty and crate train, loves learning new tricks, is so well behaved in the car, can easily entertain herself with toys, and so much more. In short - she’s the dream puppy, and absolutely gorgeous. My friends and family are envious and in disbelief when they’re around her. Deann’s incredible breeding lines and hard work in put in during my puppy’s early days is so evidently seen with how she is at 12 weeks old. I recommend Camden’s Caring Canines to anyone looking for the perfect Lab

Deann was amazing to work with and we found the perfect pup! Our Chocolate, Poppy, has been the sweetest most amazing puppy! Very trainable and eager to learn. Deann was responsive throughout the process and knowledgeable about the breed. She provided great recommendations to ease the transition into your home. Would recommend!

Deann takes such good care of her dogs and their puppies! Our puppy's mother, who greeted us at pickup, was so friendly to us (strangers she had just met), we could tell she was well-cared-for and well-loved! When we brought Nigel home, he settled in easily, already knew how to sit (especially for his food), and in every way acted like a well-adjusted little puppy. I'm glad we found Deann!

We brought our sweet Millie home Easter weekend. She was 8 weeks old. I don’t know what Deann and her family do to raise these pups to be ready to go home, but our girl came home just about house broke, knew “sit” and “off”. Sleeps almost all night with potty break after about 7 hours! She is so smart and so loving and cuddly! We highly recommend Deann’s puppies if you're looking for loving, trainable, smart, sweet labs!
