Meet the breeder

I'm Deann B., the breeder behind Camden's Caring Canines located in Camden, IN. Our pets are healthy, happy, well trained, and much loved. Our pups are from exceptional bloodlines, chosen for excellent health and beautiful confirmation. Our goal is to breed and train polite, obedient canine companions. Our dogs are known for their intelligence and ease in training and for their calm, companionable personalities. We train our adults; and many of our adult dogs have their Canine Good Citizen Title. We have bred quality labs for over ten years and have many, many, satisfied dog owners. We are a very small kennel, inspected and approved by AKC, with only a few litters a year. Our dogs are our pets and get lots of love and attention from us and our children. We look forward to talking to you! Due to a change in circumstances, we are no longer breeding Cavaliers-we love the breed, but have chosen to focus on our labs.

Q. & A. with Deann

  • Why did you start breeding?

My brother gave our son a chocolate lab for his birthday in 2008, and we fell in love with labs. Our daughter, of course, wanted her own dog, and our love of labs and our breeding story began with those two wonderful labs-Trooper and Nicki.
  • What makes your program special?

We focus on healthy, champion bloodlines, with a special focus on trainability and personable temperaments. We have an interest in therapy/service dogs and we are involved with Canines for Christ Therapy Dogs. We spend time with our puppies from the moment they are born. They get early neurological stimulation, many different types of socialization, and a strong dedication to their health and well-being. We are a support to our families from the time they contact us through the life of their puppy. We welcome you into our puppy family.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

I would and have recommended Deann as a breeder. Her knowledge about the breed was amazing and her advise was priceless. She sent us pictures of him so that we could see him grow. We took advantage of being able to meet him when he was five weeks old and I think that helped our bonding. Our new puppy is so smart. He learned how to sit and shake my hand in two days. We love him so much. Thank you Deann for your professionalism and our beautiful puppy.

Deann was so great throughout this whole process. From reserving a pup to driving to pick him up, she was very responsive and kind. We have been over the moon since bringing home our boy in October! Rocky is the smartest and most playful pup ever. He learned sit, shake, lay down and roll over in his first 2 weeks. He was crate trained after the first few days and has been fully potty trained since December. He also is great on a leash. We are so thankful we found Deann!

We found Deann after looking for chocolate labs on Good Dog and we couldn’t be happier with the entire process! She was so helpful answering all of our questions and guiding us to picking our pup. Highly recommend visiting her and her dogs on the farm to see her dedication and passion in person.

Deann was a pleasure to work with. She kept us up to date with photos, had us for a visit to meet the puppy a couple weeks before pickup and had everything very well organized at pickup.

We are so blessed to have found this beautiful, healthy, and smart puppy. Indy is a dream, she’s well mannered and at 10 weeks old is already leash trained, sits well, responds to her name and of course she comes running when you say the word “Treat”. From the day we happened upon Camden’s Caring Canines site online, we have been very pleased with Deann’s knowledge and love for these puppies. She responded quickly to answer our questions and even sent pictures as we were waiting to pick our baby up. Indy is a dark rich chocolate color with beautiful eye color. The 1600 mile round trip drive from Florida was beyond worth it to receive our remarkable baby girl!! 🤎

Deann was wonderful to work with from beginning to end, and the communication/payment through Good Dog couldn't have been easier. Deann's litters are just as advertised, good looking and healthy. You can tell it is a well run breeding establishment as soon as you step foot on the property. We couldn't be happier with our pup Mabel, she is playful, loving and SMART! We are so glad she is part of our family.
