I'm Dominique C., the breeder behind Cannon Yorkies located in Lake Mary, FL. At Cannon Yorkies, located in Central Florida, we take pride in raising Yorkies that excel both in the show ring and as loving companions. Many of our puppies have gone on to become exceptional show dogs, while every one of them has found their place as a cherished family member and lifelong friend. Our mission is to ensure each puppy leaves our care healthy, happy, and well-prepared for its future home.
Q. & A. with Dominique
Why did you start breeding?
We started breeding Yorkies because of our deep love and respect for the breed. Over the years, we saw how these little dogs bring joy, companionship, and even confidence to the families they join. Our goal has always been to preserve and improve the breed by focusing on health, temperament, and structure—while also preparing each puppy to thrive as either a show dog or a beloved family companion. For us, breeding isn’t just about raising puppies—it’s about creating lifelong bonds between well-matched dogs and their families.
What makes your program special?
What makes our program special is the combination of dedication, health-focused breeding, and the personal care each puppy receives. At Cannon Yorkies, every dog is raised in a loving home environment—not a kennel—so they are well-socialized and ready to transition into family life. We carefully select our breeding dogs for health, temperament, and structure to preserve the integrity of the breed while minimizing genetic risks.
Many of our puppies go on to excel in the show ring, but what matters most to us is that every Yorkie we raise becomes a happy, healthy, and cherished family companion. Our commitment doesn’t end when a puppy goes home—we stay connected with families to provide guidance and support throughout their dog’s life.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Legend, dad
Yorkshire Terrier
About Legend
Legend is not only a Champion of Belarus, but is one major away from becoming an American champion. He has a sweet and playful personality, always ready to join in on fun while remaining gentle and patient with children. His calm and stable temperament makes him a joy to live with, and he passes these same wonderful qualities on to his puppies. Beyond his beauty and show accomplishments, what truly sets him apart is his loving nature—he’s as happy snuggling on the couch as he is shining in the ring.
