The puppies played on the porch for the first time this morning. They got to hang out with their loyal protector, Betty, AKA the best Nanny dog ever! Several of the chihuahuas joined, and they met the cats for the first time. Nothing phases them! They are so brave and friendly!

Ginger C.
These girls crack me up! They have had a busy few days since I updated last. They try new things and sleep to process it all. They are so smart and brave. They have begun clicker training (I promise to get some video of that soon!) and are exploring new areas and eating new foods. (That’s Red sleeping completely upside down 😂)

They are loving the new play pen. And they enjoy napping in the kennels. These will be such easygoing dogs! They play hard and they rest well. 🥰

The puppies moved to the big playpen! Such big girls! They had some time with mom in the area with them, then a nice big meal, and finally a long, peaceful nap to process all the fun.

It’s been a fun weekend with lots of snuggles and play time. The Puppies are practicing being lap dogs. They are naturals. Weaning is in full effect! They are eating well. They’ve eaten 9 different foods and have tolerated them all very well.

Ginger C.
New thing for today was adding meat to their milk. They loved it! They are much better at eating from my hand than from the lick mat. That’s great because it will mean “taking a treat” and the beginning of operant behavior will start soon!! Stay tuned!! They got so messy and had a nice bath. Sorry I couldn’t get pics of that. At this age it’s all hands on deck to ensure they always have a positive association with the grooming process.

Another successful nail trim today. These puppies are so agreeable! 🥰

The puppies are getting better and finding and drinking their milk. They love it! Note: we wean to raw. Building a robust gut microbiome helps the puppy get the most out of whatever high quality food you choose to feed.

Ginger C.
The puppies are moving off their bed to potty! This is the beginning of potty training.

Ginger C.
Today’s new thing is adding the barrier to shrink their space as they start to learn to potty train. They are moving off their bed to potty more and more. They also listened to some socialization sounds (barking, doorbells, fireworks, vacuum, etc. ) while they were happily nursing. Now for snuggles and naps with light jazz.
