I'm Kayla R., the breeder behind Castle Grogan Cavaliers located in Ore City, TX. Our puppies come from mamas and daddy dogs that live in our home- that sleep in our bed. It hurts a little when we have to say goodbye to our puppies, but knowing they’re out there helping people makes us feel better!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Once I realized how amazing this breed of dogs was- I knew I never ever ever wanted to be without a cavalier in my home! There are some health problems cavaliers are prone too- so I want to do everything I can to take care of and improve the breed!

  • What makes your program special?

    I’m most interested in the emotional well being of my cavaliers. My focus is on creating the least anxious, most calm and confident puppies I can! My puppies also never need to go to a pet shelter or pound- it’s in my contract that if for some reason the owner needs to give the pup up, I have an open door policy and the puppies can always come back to my home.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Episodic Falling Syndrome (EFS), Dry Eye Curly Coat Syndrome (CKSID)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    she was great! she answered all of my questions and willing to give me all the information i needed to be confident i was getting the right puppy! she provided lots of updates and photos of my baby and was flexible to work with for pick up! my baby is perfect and healthy! he is already doing well with training in his first couple weeks! i highly recommend choosing kayla!!

    Kayla was a pleasure to deal with from the start, From the moment I made my choice she stayed in touch with me via email, photos and videos. I even went and visited him while he was growing. With all the photos and videos I was able watch him grow and progress. when I pcked him up absolutely everything was ready to go. The only thing I had to do is be a good friend to my new friend. If I ever decide Spade needs a friend to play with I will contsct Kayla.

    Kayla was awesome! She was very responsive and knowledgeable. She would send pics and do live play dates with the puppies. Our Gus Gus did great transition to our household. Kayla had started potty training so it has been super easy for us. I recommend Kayla with Castle Grogan Cavaliers.
