About Rain
Rain, officially CBC’s Ripple Affect, is more than a beloved member of our program. Together, Rain and I have completed extensive training in Search and Rescue (SAR), including cadaver/human-remains detection work. Our training has required dedication, teamwork, problem-solving, environmental confidence, and the ability to work effectively under challenging conditions. Through this experience, Rain has demonstrated the qualities we value highly in our dogs: intelligence, drive, trainability, confidence, focus, and a strong desire to work alongside her handler. Search and Rescue training isn't simply about teaching a dog commands—it requires building a dependable working partnership between dog and handler. Rain's training has allowed us to develop that partnership while continually challenging her mentally and physically. Her accomplishments are especially meaningful to our breeding program because we strive to produce dogs with more than beautiful structure and pedigrees. Our goal is to preserve and produce stable temperaments, strong working ability, versatility, intelligence, and dogs capable of succeeding alongside their people, whether that future is in working disciplines, performance sports, or as an exceptional companion. We are incredibly proud of what Rain and I have accomplished together and look forward to continuing our education and training as a Search and Rescue team.

About Charlie
Charlie is a driven, enthusiastic member of Cates Border Collies who loves having a job to do. He actively competes in Barn Hunt and is currently training in agility, where we continue to develop his confidence, speed, focus, and teamwork with his handler. Charlie proudly earned his RATN (Novice Barn Hunt Title) during the weekend of June 22–23, 2024. This accomplishment was especially exciting for us because it was only his second Barn Hunt competition! Charlie gave us his best throughout the entire weekend and showed just how much natural instinct, determination, and enthusiasm he brings to the sport. His success in Barn Hunt, combined with his ongoing agility training, highlights many of the qualities we value in our dogs: drive, intelligence, trainability, confidence, athleticism, versatility, and a willingness to work with their handler. We couldn't be prouder of Charlie and everything he has accomplished so far. We are excited to continue competing in Barn Hunt, progressing through his agility training, and seeing just how far this talented boy can go.
