I'm Josie L., the breeder behind Chantal Kennel FCR's raised by Josie LeBalch located in Los Angeles, CA. Our pups are raised and loved in our home along side our active family. We introduce ENS, ESI, basic obedience, crate and potty training to make transitioning to your home a success. A beautiful balance of form and function, built on proven performance and steady temperament is the joy of our FCR's.

Why did you start breeding?
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, I developed a lifelong passion for animals, which flourished working at a nearby horse ranch and summers at our family farm in France. My love over the years for my Golden Retrievers introduced me to a breeder, mentor who has become a good friend. After a break from breeding Goldens, we are looking forward to our Flat-Coated Retrievers first litter.What makes your program special?
At Chantal Kennels our utmost goal is to better the breed by producing healthy, loving dogs with balance and good temperament. Dogs that are companions, live in your home, and prioritize performance. We are looking forward to this collaboration of DesertFire Flat-Coated Retrievers AZ and Flatline Flat-Coated Retrievers VA. The versatility from Conformation, Field, Scentwork to the sofa. OFA/AKC.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Josie
Josie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Josie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“We take great care in placing the right puppy in your family. Puppies are matched once they're old enough for us to evaluate their temperaments and personalities - typically around 7-8 weeks.”
Price
“The price includes the guarantee, AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, and puppy socialization. Breeder policy: The $500 fee holds your place for a puppy from a specific litter. It is refundable until puppies are two weeks old. If the puppy is placed at 8 weeks, a full refund is given minus any fees or costs.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
