I'm Susan L., the breeder behind Chivalry Hill Collies located in Hunterdon County, NJ. I'm a passionate, ethical breeder that focuses on preserving, protecting, and maintaining the standards of this magnificent breed. I hand-raise all of my dogs with love in my home. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one with an enriching and loving family complementary to their personality and ability!
Our puppies are whelped in our home with constant supervision and are handled daily and introduced to other animals when they are ready. Their potty training is introduced in their whelping/indoor pen so they are easy to train once they are able to go outside.
Our pups are raised foremost to be lifelong companions, even those we show and breed.
I am active in our local clubs, serving as Secretary, and am on the Board of the NJ Federation of Dog Clubs.
Q. & A. with Susan
Why did you start breeding?
I built my program with care and intention in every step. I am passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and I want my program to be an example of how to responsibly breed high-quality, healthy dogs.
What makes your program special?
I hold myself to the highest standard when it comes to my dogs and my policies. I am thorough in health testing and caring for my dogs, and I make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual care that it needs to thrive. My goal is to ensure that every dog that comes from my program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves my care.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
