I'm Karen M., the breeder behind Cocker Eclipse In Home Kennel located in Sumter, SC. I’ve been raising American Cocker Spaniels on for 41 years, with the same female bloodline. My Cockers run smaller than average. My dames weighs 15-26lbs & the sire weighs 20lbs. The look of happiness on people’s faces when they meet their new forever companion for the first time is priceless!
Q. & A. with Karen
Why did you start breeding?
I got my first cocker over 43 years ago. Her name was Tawni, a buff. I bred her once and my children begged me to keep a pup! I kept the runt, Ginger, a cream. That was all it took! My love for the breed and for pups hit me in my heart. I enjoy making people happy when I deliver a pup to them. I will not ship in the pups best interest but I’ll drive to meet you some of the way or to an airport.
What makes your program special?
For 41 year's, I have been breeding solely Cocker Spaniels. They are raised in my home and given daily love and attention. They’re well socialized with adult dogs and people. The parent cockers are my in home pets. When I retire a dame or sire, they remain with me as part of my family! I’ve had the same female bloodline for all 41 years. I love my fur babies & love what I do. They’re my heart!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brown white and tan, black and white, red, golden, cream, buff and white, buff, brown, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

My experience was Karen was absolutely wonderful! She is a lovely person and raises beautiful, well-cared for cocker spaniels. She made a great recommendation for vitamins and food and my new puppy refuses to eat anything but his dog food. My new puppy is so gorgeous and affectionate and well-socialized. Everyone falls in love with him. I highly recommend Cocker Eclipse in Home Kennel!!!

Karen really loves and cares for the cocker spaniel breed. There is so much love and attention that goes into raising the puppies and she made sure to give me all the information I needed to ensure my cocker spaniel would have the healthiest lifestyle. I really appreciated how she was able to meet me halfway during my puppy pick up, it was so helpful and thoughtful. I am so blessed to have found Karen and to have one of the puppies born in her home kennel.

I am so happy I found Karen through Good Dogs. Karen worked with me every step of the way when it came to us getting our little Tater even meeting us at a half way point in between her and I. Meeting Karen I realized she is not just a breeder but someone who truly loves her puppies and goes out of her way to make sure they are happy and healthy. Tater is the love of our life and is such a joy since we received him. Thank you Karen for everything.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
